“Postal Portraits” Photography Competition
Emirates Post invites UAE residents to participate in the Postal Portraits initiative – a photography competition that invites participants to explore the stories that Emirates Post has woven across the country.
Emirates Post stands as a symbol of bridging distances and preserving memories. A story of history, culture and companionship unfolds with each stamp, letter and postcard. The initiative is a translation to these narratives, inviting you to capture the spirit of Emirates Post in every frame.
Themes
Every 3 months, our photography competition will focus on specific themes. These are as follows:
October – December 2023
Capturing the architecture and building exteriors of Emirates Post. (note: this cannot be interior spaces)
January – March 2024
Conveying your own story of the post in the UAE through pictures.
April – June 2024
Moments of people around Emirates Post locations. (note: this cannot be actual customers)
July – September 2024
Expressing creative concepts that can be used for Emirates Post stamps & postcards.
Awards
Every month, the photographer who submits the most exceptional photograph will be awarded:
AED 2,500 + An assortment of curated giveaways
Key Dates
This monthly photo competition will run over 12 months from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
- Submissions start on the 1st of every month.
- Submissions end on the last day of every month.
- Winners are announced monthly on our social channels.
Postal Portraits Ambassador
We are very excited to be partnering with Ola Allouz who is our ambassador for this photography competition.
Ola Allouz is an Emirati artist born in Dubai, with a particular focus on culture and daily life photography. Her photography reveals an almost mathematical approach towards details and symmetry, and a powerful passion for sharing untold stories. This unique mixture of perspective has garnered various international awards and photography distinctions from different countries around the world.
Currently, Ola is a Fujifilm brand ambassador. She also founded the @foto.uae Instagram feed, which organizes periodic photo-walks and meet-ups around UAE for like-minded creatives to foster relationships across artist communities.
Criteria
The following criteria needs to be followed for participation:
- High-resolution images for professional use must be submitted and must have a minimum of 3000 pixels in portrait or landscape layouts
- All photos must be in a digital format, they must not have any watermarks on them and must not be over-edited
- Each participant can submit up to 3 photos per month, either in color or in black and white
- Photos must be added on a participant’s Instagram page with the tag #PostalPortraits
- Submissions need to be made by the end of each month and every winning photo will be announced the following month
